Day One: Table Mountain
This walking tour begins at the Nelson Mandela Gateway in the Victoria
& Alfred Waterfront. Today we explore Cape Town and learn of its
fascinating social history. This day includes a visit to Robben Island
Museum, Bo Kaap, the District 6 Museum, and a boat tour of the
harbor, where the views of Cape Town and Table Mountain are simply
stunning.
Platteklip Lodge (includes lunch and dinner)
Day 2: Table Mountain
The next day we catch the cable car to the top of Table Mountain. For
the more active and adventurous groups, we can also hike to the top of the mountain. Once at the top, we spend the day exploring the
pristine fynbos learning of the rich fauna and flora of the region. Lunch is served at Maclear’s Beacon - the highest point on
the Cape Peninsula. That night we sleep on top of Table Mountain, in
comfortable beds complete with warm showers, with Cape Town at our feet and the magnificent stars above.
Overseer's Cottage (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day Three: Table Mountain
The final day is spent exploring the natural and historic wonders of
Table Mountain. After lunch, we descend via the eastern slopes to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens where the trail
ends. Alternatively, we descend from Table Mountain using the cable car.
