The Pearl of Africa: 13-day vacation in Uganda
Day 1: En Route
Depart from home; en route to Kampala, Uganda.
Day 2: Kampala
Today we arrive at Entebbe International airport where we are escorted to the Emin Pasha Hotel situated in the heart of Kampala. Relax and unwind at the popular FEZ Bar & Restaurant.

Day 3: Kampala/Murchison Falls National Park
Today we transfer to Nile Safari Lodge located on the southern banks of the Nile River in Murchison Falls National Park. Murchison Falls National Park is the country’s largest protected area, home to the famous Murchison Falls and an abundant wildlife population.

Day 4: Murchison Falls National Park
Today we embark on a river safari on the Nile, where we see Murchison Falls.
Later that day we have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional land-based safari in the park.

Day 5: Murchison Falls National Park/Kibale National Park
We transfer by charter flight to Kibale National Park. Once we arrive we drive to Ndali Lodge, perched on the rim of an extinct volcano overlooking Lake Nyinambuga and the gorgeous Rwenzori Mountains.

Day 6: Kibale National Park
We spend all day in Kibale Forest National Park tracking chimpanzees and other incredible primates including the Red Colobus, Angolan Colobus, and L’Hoest’s Monkey. This is one of the best locations in East Africa for viewing chimpanzees. If we are lucky, we might even catch a glimpse of Uganda's rare forest elephants.

Day 7: Kibale National Park/Queen Elizabeth National Park
Today we drive south to Ishasha Wilderness Camp in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 8: Queen Elizabeth National Park
With over 100 animal species and over 600 bird species, Queen Elizabeth National Park boasts one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game reserve in Africa. We set off on an all-day safari, keeping a sharp lookout for giant Forest Hogs, the Ugandan Kob, famous tree-climbing lions, flamingoes, and forest monkeys.

Day 9: Queen Elizabeth National Park/Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Today we make the scenic drive to Gorilla Forest Camp, located in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to the rare and elusive Mountain Gorillas. As one of only two camps located in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Gorilla Forest Camp provides the perfect base from which to track the gorillas.

Day 10 & 11: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Bwindi is one of the most biologically diverse areas on Earth, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Over the next two days we forge into the surrounding rainforest-covered mountains with our guides in pursuit of the rare, and highly elusive, Mountain Gorilla. Our guides use their knowledge of the gorilla’s living habits and patterns, along with an understanding of the surrounding mountains, to track down the gorilla families.

Day 12: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest/Entebbe
Today we board our charter flight to Entebbe International Airport. Upon arrival, we board our international flight home.

We arrive back home and share all our fabulous stories and photos with friends and family
