During this vacation we take an in-depth look at Cape Town, South Africa, which is ranked number five by BBC on its "Top 50 Places to See Before You Die" list, and become immersed in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. After Cape Town, we travel north to relax at the Victoria Falls Hotel in luxury where we enjoy a lazy sundowner on the mighty Zambezi River overlooking Victoria Falls. Finally, we transfer to MalaMala Game Reserve to see the vast array of African wildlife up-close while on safari.

Day 1: En Route

Depart from home; en route to Cape Town, South Africa.

Day 2: Cape Town

Today we arrive in Cape Town, South Africa where we are met by our Lark Tours guide. We then transfer to the Cape Grace Hotel located in the exclusive Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and check into our Rooftop Luxury rooms.

Day 3: Cape Town

Today we embark on a private tour of Cape Town's city center. We delve into the beauty, culture, and history of the city, once a stopping point for Dutch ships on their way to Indonesia. We visit the harbor, the Cape Castle, the Bo Kaap, the African market at Greenmarket Square, the Company Gardens, and much more.

Day 4: Cape Town

We begin the day by visiting the top of Table Mountain, where the views overlooking the city and the Atlantic Ocean are beautiful. We have a mid morning English tea at the famous Mount Nelson Hotel. That afternoon we enjoy the beautiful Camps Bay area and we do some leisurely shopping at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront before embarking a sundowner cruise on the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 5: Cape Town

Today we visit some of the local townships to not only experience this part of South Africa's culture, but also to learn about the history and impact of the Apartheid Era. This also gives us the chance to talk to and mingle with men and women who actually lived through Apartheid in South Africa. We conclude the day with a visit to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for many years.

Day 6: Cape Town

Today embark on a private tour of the magnificent Cape Peninsula, also known as the Cape of Good Hope. This all-day tour includes stops at Duiker Island to watch the seal colony, at Boulders Beach where the endemic African Penguins live, and at Cape Point.

Day 7: Cape Town

Today we explore the Cape Winelands of Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. We tour several vineyards where we have the chance to meet the wine makers and sample some of South Africa's fabulous wines.

Day 8: Cape Town/Victoria Falls


Today we depart for Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Our hotel, the Victoria Falls Hotel, offers outstanding views overlooking the magnificent falls. That afternoon we visit the breathtaking Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Upon seeing these falls, David Livingstone remarked "scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight."

Day 9: Victoria Falls

Today we embark on an early morning elephant-back safari through the bush surrounding Victoria Falls. Next we set off on a helicopter ride over the Falls, where the aerial views are stunning. We conclude the day with an evening cruise on the mighty Zambezi River.

Day 10: Victoria Falls/MalaMala Game Reserve

We transfer to MalaMala Game Reserve, located in Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve adjacent to Kruger National Park. That afternoon we embark on a thrilling safari.

Day 11, 12, 13, & 14: MalaMala Game Reserve

We spend the next four days on safari in search of all the magnificent wildlife Africa has to offer, from herds of elephants, to lions on the hunt, to elusive leopards, and everything in between. When we're not on safari, we spend time relaxing, enjoying MalaMala's fine cuisine, and soaking in the African surroundings.

Day 15: MalaMala Game Reserve/Johannesburg

After one last safari we transfer back to Johannesburg where we board our international flights home.
