Day-By-Day Itinerary

​​Day 1 – Vienna

Arrive at Vienna International Airport, where you will be transferred to the ship.

Day 2 – ViennaFEATURED EXCURSIONS: Choice of Vienna city tour with visit to Vienna State Opera OR exclusive “Vienna, City of Arts” tour
See Vienna’s top sights on a panoramic tour showcasing the city’s architectural heritage, followed by a stroll to the State Opera House for a guided tour. As an alternative, view the Gustav Klimt exhibit at the Belvedere, a remarkable collection that includes his most famous painting—The Kiss.

Day 3 – Cruising the Wachau Valley, Weissenkirchen (Weissenkirchen or Melk)

FEATURED EXCURSIONS: Choice of Weissenkirchen “Village Day” with exclusive guided “Go Active” vineyard hike with wine tasting OR Melk Abbey with library visit

After cruising through the Wachau Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, enjoy various activities in Weissenkirchen—stroll through the village, sample apricot-infused delicacies, taste local wines and hike through a vineyard. Or you may visit Melk’s famous abbey. In the evening, enjoy a Captain’s Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner.

Day 4 – Engelhartszell, PassauFEATURED EXCURSIONS: Choice of Passau walking discovery tour OR exclusive guided “Go Active” Bavarian river bicycle ride
Your guided walking discovery tour of Passau is a fine introduction to this charming and well-preserved town, strategically situated at the confluence of three rivers. You will also have free time to roam on your own. Or, you can choose to cycle along one of the most scenic sections of the Danube’s riverside bike path with an expert guide.

Day 5 – Deggendorf (Theresienthal), cruising the Danube River, StraubingFEATURED EXCURSIONS: Choice of exclusive Bavarian Forest village and Theresienthal glass manufactory visit OR exclusive guided “Go Active” bicycle ride along the Danube River, and Straubing, “A Day in Town”
Ride through the Bavarian Forest in a horse-drawn wagon, stopping to sample freshly baked bread en route to a renowned glassmaking workshop. If you’d like some exercise, take a guided bike ride along the Danube instead. Return to the ship and savor the beautiful scenery on the way to Straubing, where you’ll spend the day and have a choice of activities.

Day 6 – RegensburgFEATURED EXCURSIONS: Choice of “2,000 Years in One Hour” Regensburg walking discovery tour OR Jewish Regensburg walking discovery tour OR BMW factory visit
Regensburg is one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval towns, and your tour provides a concise overview of its fascinating 2,000-year history. For a different perspective, explore sites associated with Germany’s oldest Jewish community, dating back more than a thousand years, or tour the state-of-the-art BMW factory. 

Note: If the tour lands on a day when the BMW factory is closed, we will visit the Audi factory (weekdays) or the Audi museum (weekends).

Day 7 – Cruising the Main-Danube Canal, NurembergFEATURED EXCURSIONS: Choice of Nuremberg city tour OR Nuremberg WWII historical tour with Documentation Center visit
After cruising the most scenic parts of the Main-Danube Canal, head ashore in Nuremberg for a panoramic tour. Or take a guided tour of significant WWII sites, including Courtroom 600, the venue for the historic Nuremberg Trials. In the evening, enjoy a Captain’s Farewell Reception and Gala Dinner. 

Note: Courtroom 600 is an active court. Visitors will only be permitted to see the courtroom during trial breaks.

Day 8 – Nuremberg (disembark), transfer to Prague

Disembark the ship and transfer via motorcoach to Prague.

Day 9 – Prague

FEATURED EXCURSIONS: Choice of Prague city tour OR Jewish Prague walking discovery tour

Enjoy a panoramic tour of Prague, then cross Charles Bridge to the Old Town Square to see Tyn Church and the famous astronomical clock. Or, take a tour of the old Jewish quarter, which features Europe’s oldest Jewish cemetery, the Old New Synagogue and the Pinkas Synagogue, now a memorial to Holocaust victims. 

Note: The synagogues and Jewish cemetery are closed on Saturdays. If the tour lands on a Saturday, we will visit sites in the Josefov district associated with writer Franz Kafka.

Day 10 – Prague, transfer to the airportTransfer to Prague Václav Havel Airport for your flight home.
