Day-By-Day Itinerary

Day 1 – Prague

Arrive at Prague Václav Havel Airport, where you will be transferred to the hotel.

Day 2 – PragueFEATURED EXCURSIONS: Choice of Prague city tour OR Jewish Prague walking discovery tour
Enjoy a panoramic city tour before visiting Prague Castle and Old Town Square. Or, explore Jewish Prague on a tour of the old Jewish quarter, which features Europe’s oldest Jewish cemetery, the Old New Synagogue and Pinkas Synagogue, now a Holocaust memorial. 
Note: The synagogues and Jewish cemetery are closed on Saturdays. If the tour lands on a Saturday, we will visit sites in the Josefov district associated with writer Franz Kafka.

Day 3 – Prague, transfer to Nuremberg (embark)FEATURED EXCURSION: Nuremberg city tour
After transferring to Nuremberg by motorcoach, enjoy a panoramic tour of the city’s top sights. Later, explore the historic castle grounds and the market square area on foot and embark your ship.

Day 4 – Bamberg

FEATURED EXCURSION: Bamberg walking discovery tour

Today’s walking discovery tour of Bamberg—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—takes you past the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. George, the 17th-century New Palace and its glorious rose garden, and the colorful fishermen’s houses of Little Venice. In the evening, enjoy a Captain’s Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner.

Day 5 – Cruising the Main River, Würzburg (Rothenburg)

Go ashore for a guided tour of Rothenburg, a well-preserved medieval town, followed by free time to explore on your own. After dinner onboard, stroll through ancient Würzburg, crossing the old stone bridge over the Main River for a superb view of the city lights.

Day 6 – Würzburg, cruising the Main River

Day 7 – Miltenberg, cruising the Main River

Get a glimpse of village life in Miltenberg with a choice of excursions—meet a local artist, taste beer at a local brewery, try your hand at lawn bowling, or visit a nearby family-owned vineyard. For a more active adventure, you might take a bike ride along the Main or a hike up to the castle ruins.

Day 8 – Nierstein (Nierstein and Heidelberg), cruising the Rhine River

FEATURED EXCURSIONS: Exclusive Nierstein “Village Day” with vineyard tractor ride, Riesling wine tasting and naturalist-led vineyard hike, and Heidelberg tour with castle visit

Spend the day in Nierstein, where renowned white wines have been produced for centuries. Ride a tractor through scenic vineyards, sample Rieslings and learn about the region’s viniculture from an expert naturalist. Then head to Heidelberg, where you’ll see the ruins of the Heidelberg Castle courtyard and the city’s Old Town.

Day 9 – Strasbourg, cruising the Rhine River

Day 10 – Basel (disembark), transfer to the airportDisembark the ship and transfer to EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg for your flight
